In-Person Microschool Program
Grades 5–7 | Germantown, Philadelphia
The In-Person Program is the heart of School House Lane. Meeting two days per week in Germantown, this secular microschool offers a full middle school curriculum in a cozy, home-based setting.
What Students Learn
- Language Arts: Reading, writing, grammar, and literature studies.
- History & Social Studies: A global perspective, with the 2025–2026 year focused on Early Modern History.

Virtual & Hybrid Program

The Virtual & Hybrid Program gives families the flexibility of online learning while maintaining SHL’s signature small-group, high-engagement environment.
How It Works
- Virtual Option: Two live Zoom classes per week (1.5 hrs each) covering literature, writing, and grammar. Classes are capped at six students and align with the in-person curriculum.
- Hybrid Option: Virtual classes plus up to eight in-person days per year. On these days, students join Germantown classmates for Social Studies, lunch, and social time.
