About Us
At School House Lane, we reimagine middle school homeschooling through a modern one-room schoolhouse approach. Students explore literature, history, science, and the arts in a small group setting led by a highly experienced teacher.
Our Approach
We believe that learning should be both rigorous and joyful. With high standards, personalized support, and no grades or tests, students are free to focus on meaningful work, creative expression, and genuine curiosity.
Community & Fit
Each group is intentionally kept small — just six students — to foster friendships, collaboration, and trust. SHL welcomes progressive, secular homeschoolers who value structure, creativity, and community.
Our Programs
In-Person
A cozy microschool in Germantown for grades 5–7. Two full days a week of Language Arts, history, science, and enrichment workshops—with monthly field trips and personalized teacher support.
Virtual/Hybrid
Live, small-group Zoom classes in Language Arts with the option to join in-person days in Philadelphia. Build skills, connect with peers, and receive ongoing homeschool support.
Consulting & Evaluations
One-on-one homeschool consulting and required annual evaluations for PA families. Get personalized advice and supportive evaluations from a certified teacher.
